ZLog

Technical Lead: Noah Watkins

ZLog is a distributed shared commit log built on software-defined storage. A log is a powerful building block for higher level services like databases and file systems. ZLog clients append to the end of the log and can read concurrently from the log without coordination. ZLog works well over RADOS (the Ceph object store) because (1) it inherits the software/hardware upgrades of the underlying storage system and (2) RADOS provides the necessary interfaces for implementing the CORFU protocols (e.g., enforcing constraints).
